While Two Little Fish has won the hearts of many, some diners mention the challenge of placing phone orders during peak hours due to high demand. It’s wise to expect longer wait times, especially on busy Friday evenings when the crowd reaches full capacity. Also, although the atmosphere is lively, the busy environment can sometimes lead to noise levels that make conversation difficult. Some patrons wish for more diverse dining options beyond fish and chips, feeling limited by the primarily seafood-focused menu.
Lastly, while reservations are accepted, it's advisable to plan ahead as the wait times can extend, particularly in the evenings.
We ordered fish & chips last Saturday. We were very impressed how the fish & chips were cooked. The chips were nicely drained & the Gurnard fillets were perfectly cooked. And they also gave us an extra piece of fish.

Best fish and chip Takeaways in Nelson ! Consistently excellent.
Stopped by here on Monday evening and had a great experience. Super friendly staff and an extensive menu for a chippy. I had some scallops, oysters, a pāua patty and some chips. Loved all of it. Chips were cooked perfectly and the portion size was great. Best fish and chips I’ve had in ages. My partner was also very impressed by the vegetarian burger so extra points for that as it’s really hard to find good vegetarian options at chippies.
